I might be getting chickens and this is what im planning... can you check this and say if its ok?
Cage: i was going to get a hutch with a run built in underneath and add some perches etc
Birds: i was going to get three japanese bantams, maybe two hens and one cock, or three hens. they will be for pets and the occasional eggs. (i do know quit a bit about chickens, but being only 14 i want some more experienced advice).
Food: i would feed mine a mix of layers pellets, mixed corn and wheat. there will be grit on hand for them when they need it. the food will be hung in a domed feeder, and the water will be in also a domed drinker. the grit will be in a tray with holes in for dust to fall out etc.

and by the way this is in the pets category as when i last asked this question in the birds one, i only got one answer and i could do with some more.
that seems fine..maybe a little too fine hahahaha, my chickens just have a coop, and they run around my lawn durning the day and go back to the coop at night. maybe after keeping your chickens in there for a week you can let them free in your lawn and they will go back in, they need freedom. but other than that, that sounds really good, and you sound like a really good pet owner.
btw, chickens love left over people food!!!!!
