Would a "Butterfly Bush" grow healthy and withstand the heat and cold in the desert?

My concern is that I live in the desert. Also, my favorite flower is the gardenia.
We had that bush/flower in California and as we walked to our front door and the aroma
was enticing and breathtaking. Can they grow here where it gets to over 110*F and 25-30*F in the winter?

I echo the words of those above me. The Butterfly Bush will do well there. The yellow one will blend well with the desert organges, too. They grow fairly large, so don't plant them too close to the house. Email me personally for more info.
