Hummingbirds $5.99 Hummingbirds is a remarkable effort from the southern dream pop outfit Venus Hum. This EP shimmers and sparkles with electronic delight, while it's also an impressive look at what's yet to come from this ambitious three-piece. Kip Kubin and Tony Miracle tweak the digital instrumentation, while vocalist Annette Strean delivers a warm, rich sound. The title track is an electric haze of lush lyrical depictions mixed with new wave aesthetic, whereas "Run Annie Run" raves in brighter synth beats for a kitschy club/dance schtick. Why are there hummingbirds here right now?
I live in Salem, Oregon and its wintertime and it says that hummingbirds that are supposed to migrate during the winter and they are still here and my mom has a Hummingbird Feeder but they are supposed to be in warmer climate why are they still here?
Rufous will arrive starting in late February but the Anna may be seen year round here in Washington living on insects rather than nectar. Being slightly larger the Anna seems to be able to survive the winter temperatures the smaller birds can't tolerate. In February they will both be seeking to use the early blooming rhododendrons and mahonia.
